How a Hammer Forms
The algorithm scans every 15-minute Heikin Ashi bar for this exact pattern. Here's what it looks for.
Price Declines
Bears push price lower, forming a long bearish candle. Sellers appear in control.
Bulls Reject Lows
A long lower wick forms as buyers step in, rejecting lower prices and pushing close back up.
Close in Upper Third
The candle closes above the 33.3% Fibonacci level of its range — the hallmark of a valid hammer.
ATR Filter Validates
Candle size is checked against ATR (0.0–3.0x). Too small or too large = no trade.
Entry Triggered
Strategy enters long on the next bar's open. Stop loss is placed below the hammer's low.
Target Hit

How the V-Bottom Detects Reversals
Three conditions must align before a signal fires. No repaints — confirmed bars only.
Significant Drop
Price must fall at least 2.0× ATR from a recent high within the 5-bar lookback window. This ensures only genuine capitulation moves qualify.
Strong Recovery
The current candle must recover at least 50% of the drop. Higher recovery thresholds (e.g. 70%) can be set for more aggressive confirmation.
Bullish Close Above Mid
The candle must close above the midpoint of the drop zone and be bullish (close > open), confirming buyers have taken control.
